Ginger and I did really good
We went tracking this morning and I am pleased to say that this was the first time there was no food, 3 turns and I wanted her to be on a harness so she can learn the difference between the many jobs she has to do. Also did I tell you we really don't do this very often, as a matter of fact it's been several weeks. Well she did super, she read the turns and this is also a learning thing for me too. Jimbo was behind us and we both worked through the little area where the growth was very low and the sent had puddled up. We were very pleased with Ginger. Not sure but I'd love to see if I could get her ready for OH tracking.

Good for you. Try to certify her as soon as she's ready and get her in a test. Even if she already has her TD, she can enter the Ohio NS tracking.
ReplyDeleteMy dogs love tracking. Chase was ready to certify when I sent him off to Susan's. His daughter Smooch is coming along well. It has been so hot here that Holmes and Nola and I haven't been out -- but we will be before too much longer.
I wish I had time to pursue all the dogs sports! Cardis seem like such naturals at tracking. If John's not in the house, Jimmy will track him to whatever neighbor's house he went to! (The houses are close together in my neighborhood, so it's not too amazing, but still pretty neat!)
ReplyDeleteThat is fantastic, Kathy! Gooooo, Ginger! Cardis SHOULD be natural trackers--their noses are very close to the ground!
ReplyDeleteThe dogs do great, it ME that has the trouble letting the dog control the situation.
