Best Agility Weekend Ever

What can I say is my girl's the best, as I can now call her MACH Flirt. :)
We started our agility journey November 2005, in 2007 she had her MX and MXJ and now in 2009 I can call her MACH Flirt. It was so great being there with friends at Agility Club of Evansville where it all started. The folks are great, you just got a love em. I think this feeling will be here for quite a while.

Really Good Agility Weekend

Flirt is really an awesome teammate in agility as we usually place in the ribbons with the top dogs. When you place in the ribbons behind Polly (Cardigan), Ferdy (Pap) and Grace (Jack), it's not a bad weekend. Flirt came home with her 16th and 17th QQ, 3 4th's and a Q (5th) and 56 MACH points. We double Q'd on Saturday and Monday and Sundays runs were also very nice. My girl is just awesome, I love her. :)

Fun at Bernheim Forest

I tried my hand at geocaching, Thanks to Alex (Buzz's owner), she gave me a wonderful gift for running Buzz. A seeing eye chihuahua (GPS) I think I'll call her Rosita Chiquita. :) So off we went to the forest and it was only right that Alex accompany me in our first quest. Alex told me the Dr. put her on new meds that made her stupid, she wasn't kidding. Like a dummy I asked her which way do you want to go? She said let follow the creek bed. So we did. It was dry at first but then we ran into some water and William tried his best to avoid the water, in the end he ended up wet. :) Flirt had a gay time and so did Jeter, (they like water). Then we had to climb an incline of lets say, super steep, the short legged dogs (mine) had a hell of a time but Alex's Boston Terrier Astro fared quite well. The national forest closed at 7:30 so we did not want to get locked up all night so we called it quits and no luck with the first geocache. :(

Another Good Agility Weekend

This past weekend we went up to Carmel, IN.
4 Q's, 80 MACH points and a QQ, I'm quite proud of my girl (Flirt).
Also the English Springer Spaniel (Buzz) I run came home with his NA and NAJ.
It's a real learning curve to run a 20" dog. I am hoping I will become a better instructor to by big dog students. I will post a picture of Buzz soon.
Happy Days to All.

Good Agility Weekend

We had a good agility weekend, Flirt Q'd 3 of the 5 runs, I'm not counting her fast class as I walked in the building after taking William to the vet and ran, not very pretty.
Now for my other runs we had a very competitive class, folks from OH, TN, IN and then our own competitive teams here in KY. Out of a class of 29 8" dogs Flirt was 3rd in std and Q'd (5th) in JWW for our 14th QQ and on sunday she placed 4th in std. I was quite pleased with our performance, she is an awesome little dog.
William was out for the weekend as he pulled a muscle. I am also learning to train, handle a big dog. His name is Buzz and he is a English Springer Spaniel. Out of 4 novice b runs we got 3 Q's with all 1st places.

Flirt's Dental Surgery

Well we just got home a little bit ago and Flirt is feeling fine.
I thought we would have been done w/ dental treatment but oh no.
Since her root canal a while ago she broke off the whole facial cusp.
I asked her dentist, Dr. Clark he is also our zoo's dentist,
he is a real dentist not a vet if we should extract the tooth and that was NOT an option. So we went to the vet and Dr. Loster did a flap and root burial. The ridge will continue to be strong w/ the roots there. So I sure hope there is no more dental surgery in her future.
